At Seagry Stud we seek to breed world class dressage horses with outstanding temperaments. The quality of the mare is vital and for this reason we also use Embryo Transfer to produce foals from our currently competing mares. We really focus on quality over quantity which is why we only have a few very select breeding horses. From a group of ‘Foundation’ mares we produce offspring with the potential to compete at the highest level. We do not stand stallions at the stud because we do not wish to constrain our choices. We only use world class stallions and combine proven sires that are known to ‘Stamp’ their progeny, along with the very best of the new generation of young stallions.
Because we know our mares very well, we are able to select sires that complement what we have and progressively improve on this. It is not easy to find a horse with that “Something Special” but that is exactly what we are focused on producing. We are confident that any horse we breed will be capable of doing whatever you want.
Hanoverian Elite Mare Seagry Firstamour (For Romance/Stedinger) was 3rd in the BD National Championships 2023 in the PSG sliver. They were already the Winter National Champion AM Free Style in 2022 with a score of over 70%. Having been the highest scoring Regional Champion in the country with over 74% she maintained that score with her first National Title.
Seagry Danita has found an amazing new home with a very special and very talented rider. Alicia Griffiths is a Grade 4 para rider who is on the BEF World Class Programme and is on the Podium Potential Pathway squad. Alicia is a registered blind athlete, and we believe she has found the perfect partner in Dannie who is without doubt the 'politest' and most talented horse I have ever bred.
This gorgeous 5 year old BHHS boy, Seagry Viceroy (Vitalis/For Romance) Competed in the BD International trial for 5 year olds at Addington Premier League show. He scored a total of 85.8% with 9's for canter, submission and perspective. 8.5 for trot and 7.4 for walk which suffered a bit from his nerves. There were only 3 horses that achieved over 75%.
The stunning daughter by Don Frederic of our foundation mare My Delight (Dimaggio) owned by Louise Heatherington and ridden by Alex Ingo-Topham is the Advanced Medium Silver National Champion. It was a huge class of 38 entries where Donnadiva and Alex were the only combination scoring over 70%.
Seagry Toto Bella is an embryo transfer by Totilas out of Seagry Firstamour. She is rising 4 years old and is now being slowly backed and produced. She is the most stunning young mare and being a direct daughter of the most famous dressage stallion in the world, Totilas, out of the Advanced dressage mare who is the 2022 National Champion at AM Freestyle, we have high expectations for her.
